Jocks, geeks, princesses and outcasts; these are just a few of the defined stereotypes in high school. Whether or not these groups exist, the “food chain” is inevitable. A popular example of high school stereotypes is The Breakfast Club, an award winning movie that portrays how present each group is in everyday high school life.
Stereotyping is a typical factor of high school. These groups and cliques are even present in an environment we all know best. Stereotypes define you as a person. They are a deciding factor in who you hangout with, what you do with your free time and how others treat you. They are formed subconsciously and over time. We don’t know that we stereotype others, but often enough teenagers are bullied based on what they look like and how they act. |
